Shiite narrative and prayer sources are full of pithy prayers issued by the infallible (Imams). Some of these prayers are offered to ask God to solve problems and troubles, especially the healing of diseases. But there must be a reason for attributing anything to the Imams. Assessing the validity of sources and narration books is one of the ways to check the validity of hadiths and prayers. Identifying books and sources of medical prayers is the first step to accessing and using these valuable works. This article uses library resources and descriptively-analytically recognizes the most important sources of medical prayers and validates them. First, we have introduced the sources that have dedicated a special chapter to this subject throughout history in the field of prayer or hadith collection. Then the most famous and extensive books of prayer and narration “Mafatih Al-Jannan and Bihar Al-Anwar” have been studied and the sources used by them have been extracted. The results of examining the sources of these two books are almost identical. The book "Teb al-Aemeh (AS)" by Abdullah and Hussein Ibn Bastam and Makarem al-Akhlaq by Tabarsi are the main sources of medical prayers, which unfortunately do not have enough credibility. But many healing prayers are mentioned in prayer sources, and by collecting them, a collection of authentic medical prayers can be donated to the devotees of the Ahl al-Bayt (AS).

The beginning of interpretation is among the important topics that have been attended in the history of interpretation. Accordingly, the orientalists also have paid special attention to this issue. Part of the article "Interpretation in the early days of Islam and the middle ages" by Gilliot, a contemporary orientalist, is about the interpretation in the early era of Islam and its validation. Gilliot has in particular examined the previous works on the narrative interpretation in the early era of Islam. His main opinions about the narrative interpretation in the early era of Islam are as follows: (1) the Prophet's (s) era is the starting point of the interpretation; (2) during the Companions' era, ten of the Companions were among the famous interpreters; (3) during the Companions of the Companions' era, ten Companions of the Companions were among the famous interpreters; and (4) the writing of the interpretation starts after the three foregoing stages. He deems the first three stages of interpretation – that coincide with the first century AH – as the oral interpretation era, and the fourth stage – that coincides with the second century AH – as the written interpretation era. However, based on the Islamic sources, despite Gilliot's ideas, the early era of narrative interpretation has the following features: (1) the oral interpretation that entails the first three stages is wider than what has been claimed by Gilliot concerning the number of narrations, the number of narrators, and the validity of the narrations and (2) the beginning of the written narrative interpretation goes back to the time before the second century AH, i.e. the first century AH.

Penned by Muhammad Ya’qoub Kulainī, al-Kāfī holds an important position among the Shia hadīth collections due not only to its comprehensiveness, chapter design, and reliable references but also to his living in an era close to that of Shia imams (AS), high scientific status, and access to four hundred principles of Shia hadīth collection. The present study seeks to verify the authenticity of al-Kāfī through the examination of its references. For this purpose, historical evidences and the viewpoints held by Muslim scholars on its references were studied. They included the four hundred principles of Shia hadīth collection, earlier hadīth collections as well as those collections whose compilers have been disqualified, those collections whose compilers’ trustworthiness have been disputed, and those reliable collections whose compilers have been disqualified. The results suggested that Kulainī has tapped reliable resources to compile al-Kāfī as a highly trustworthy collection of hadīth.
