Abstract

According to the contemporary requirements, the media is the cause of some historical and social developments and it goes to the point where it is considered one of the key elements in cultural formations. Therefore, the evaluation of media theories based on the Quranic model can help to understand these developments and value these theories. In order to reach the result in examining these theories, the epistemological approach is used. In fact, in this research, we decided to reread some of the theories in the field of media and communication to evaluate these theories in terms of truth and epistemological justification. The basis of this evaluation is the model of Quranic discourse about the media and caring for the Quran as a medium. Among the opinions of truthfulness and justification, adaptationism, functionalism, and integrationism were evaluated in this article, and it was concluded that among the eight theories examined in this article, Marshall McLuhan's theories, highlighting and planting, have adaptation and are theories that They can have a function in Quranic discourse and are able to justify coherent beliefs together. While the theory of injection, spiral of silence, use and consent, authoritarianism, as well as deciphering and receiving, are not accepted in the three areas of adaptationism, functionalism, and integrationism in the Quranic discourse and are a source of problems.
