Accurate comprehension of Qur'anic vocabulary plays a foundational role in attaining the intended divine meaning, as misinterpretation of a single term may lead to the development of flawed exegetical principles. In recent years, a method titled “Tadabbur in the Qur'an” has gained prominence, characterized by its focus on uncovering internal connections between verses and surahs, and deriving its name from the term Tadabbur. This study adopts a descriptive-analytical approach and draws upon authoritative Arabic semantic sources to examine the original meaning of Tadabbur. It argues that relying solely on the lexical definition of this term to name a distinct interpretive method lacks sufficient scholarly justification. Although the method may be considered a subcategory of Qur'anic interpretation, the designation “Tadabbur” warrants critical scrutiny from linguistic and semantic perspectives. The article concludes that this particular approach to understanding Qur'anic verses does not exhibit a direct correlation with the root or morphological structure of the term Tadabbur, rendering its nomenclature scientifically debatable.
