There is a story behind the verses 172 and 173 of blessed sura of Araf in which Shiite and Sunni commentators have different ideas. Some of the commentators consider this story as an allegory and have commentated upon them as an allegory, and believe that the aim of above- mentioned verses is the ordinary course of mundane life and the inner tendency of man to God. In contrast, some consider the story and all its hidden details as something real . According to the view of the second group, there was a world in which God contracted with all humans on His unity and divinity. Of course, there are differences among the second group in interpreting that world. Some of them take it as the rational world, some as the celestial world, and some as the Zarr world. In this essay, the above theories have been analyzed and proved to be weak in terms of evidence except the allegory and Zarr world theories.
