چکیده

مفهوم «کریم» یکی از مهم‌ترین مفاهیم مورد توجه در فرهنگ عربی، به‌ویژه در دو دورة پیش و پس از ظهور اسلام بوده‌است. تکرار این واژه در قرآن نیز نشان‌دهندة اهمیت آن است. مفهوم واژة «کریم» در عصر جاهلی و پس از نزول قرآن مجید دچار تحول عظیمی شده‌است. در نوشتار حاضر، تحول معنای «کریم» در قرآن، نسبت به دورة پیش از نزول بررسی گردیده‌است. با تحلیل فرهنگ جاهلیت و کاربردهای واژة «کریم» در دورة جاهلی، مشخص شد که این واژه در دورة پیش از نزول، به معنای شرافت خانوادگی، بزرگی حسب و نسب، بخشندگی و گشاده‌دستی مفرط و... بوده است. تبیین این مفهوم اخلاقی در آیات نیز نشان می‌دهد که خداوند با همسو کردن کرامت انسانی با تقوا در قرآن، معنای این واژه را والایش کرده، از سطحی به سطح بالاتر ارتقا داده‌است.

چکیده [English]

The concept of ‘holy’ is one of the most important and interesting concepts in Arabic culture, especially in the time before and after the advent of Islam. Also, its reiteration in the Quran indicates its importance. The concept of ‘holy’ in the pre-Islamic era and after the revelation of the Quran has witnessed a sea-change. In this paper, the evolution of the meaning of ‘holy’ in the Quran, as compared to the era before the revelation of the Quran is investigated. By analyzing the culture of ignorance and the uses of   ‘holy’ in the pre-Islamic era, we  have found that prior to the revelation of the Quran ‘holy’ meant family nobility, high dignity in positions and assignment, generosity,  munificence, etc. The explanation of this ethical concept in the verses indicates that God has exalted the meaning of this word in the Quran by making human dignity in harmony with piety.
